Kyle Rittenhouse Launches Anti-Gun-Control Nonprofit

Rittenhouse, the young republican acquitted for killing two Black Lives Matter protesters in 2020, has launched a pro-gun nonprofit. Last month, the Kyle Rittenhouse Foundation was filed with the Secretary of State on July 23rd and has a mission of protecting individuals’ inalienable right to bear arms. The organization plans to achieve this mission through education and legal support.

Since his acquittal, Rittenhouse has hosted numerous rallies and get-togethers, as well as participated in local legislation. One instance of this is when he joined Texas Gun Rights in opposing a bill that would raise the age to buy a semi-automatic rifle from 18 years old to 21 years old. Rittenhouse has also been active on social media.

The Kyle Rittenhouse Foundations’ directors include Chris McNutt, a gun rights activist and president of Texas Gun Rights, and Shelby Griesinger, a far-right financier. The nonprofit’s registered agent also has strong ties to conservative values and far-right organizations.

There is no doubt that Kyle Rittenhouse’s new nonprofit organization will be of topic in conversations surrounding gun violence and youth activism in Texas.
