On September 13, Jake Paul, a 26-year-old social media influencer and fighter, posted a TikTok with Vivek Ramaswamy. The video features Paul and Ramaswamy dancing to a popular TikTok sound with an on-screen caption reading “How come more politicians don’t connect with the younger generation with social media posts? Vivek is.”

“Getting Vivek on Tik Tok because I believe our politicians of the future should connect with gen z and millennials on social [media] where we all live and breathe. It’s bizarre that in this day and age our presidents have no connection with us via social [media]. Only the occasional tweets. Meet @Vivek Ramaswamy” Paul adds in the video’s description.

The video currently has 1.5 million views and 119k likes. Additionally, the video sports over 4k comments, many of which come from members of generation z and point out Ramaswamy’s stance on raising the voting age to 25 years old.

Vivek Ramaswamy is a 38-year-old American entrepreneur and current Republican presidential candidate. In his bid for presidency, Ramaswamy focuses on a platform that champions individual freedoms, limited government intervention, and a return to what he describes as “traditional American values.” He advocates for stricter immigration policies, deregulation of industries, and a conservative approach to fiscal and economic policies.

Jake Paul later cites his reasoning for supporting Ramaswamy is his experience as an entrepreneur on an episode of Impaulsive hosted by his brother, Logan Paul and podcast co-host, Mike Majlak. “What’s great about him, which is what I also like about Trump, is they are not just saying what their donors want them to say. They are not politicians by trade. He [Ramaswamy] is a businessman, billionaire. America is a business…” says Paul.

When Majlak asks Jake about the similarities between Donald Trump and Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign issues, he responds with “Really? I think Vivek is like super articulate and Trump just says like jokes and shit.”
